The ʻApapane is a species of finch in the Hawaiian honeycreeper subfamily, Drepanidinae, that is endemic to Hawaii. The bright crimson feathers of the ʻApapane were once used to adorn the ʻahuʻula, mahiole, and nā lei hulu of aliʻi.
